About Me

Hola! And welcome to my blog! My name is Ryan McCabe and I am a recent College grad from New Jersey. I am currently serving with the Missioners of Christ in Comayagua, Honduras. And yes yo hablo un poco espanol. The Missioners are a Catholic lay community with a focus on missionary work where they disciple and evangelize youth and young adults in Comayagua as well as isolated mountain villages all around the country. I am working with them closely with them in their youth ministry, missions and anywhere else I am needed. I a have been in Honduras since February 2021 and the Lord´s blessings have been showered down upon me.

Why would I do this? Good question. At first glance it may seem that I am shirking off all responsibility for an adventure but in reality there is a deeper reason. My faith and relationship with Jesus Christ is the most central part of my life. So, naturally as I was discerning what to do after my college graduation I asked God through prayer what He wanted me to do. God in turn placed a desire for service on my heart which grew stronger and stronger throughout my senior year and eventual led me to the Missioners. In my prayer throughout the process I kept reflecting on Matthew 25:40 "Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me." I truly believe that it is Christ that I am serving in Honduras. I find him in the poor and the lonely and the hungry.
